‘Meta-facilitation’ is key to all my work: a deep, experiential, embodied process of self-discovery and sense-making, which allows me to pause, see, think, inquire, reflect, collect, sieve, connect, inter-connect and synthesise to construct a new whole from the old parts. It helps me question the politics of gaze, selection, portrayal and representation. As a trans-disciplinary narrative designer, creative facilitator, design educator, futures enthusiast & storyteller, I facilitate processes & conversations enabling people to locate possibilities & design their own solutions and narratives using various forms, modes and media. Through 18 years of my work across various parts of India, South / South-East Asia, UK, North America, & parts of Europe, with people from more than 30 countries, I have constantly been exploring socially, environmentally & culturally relevant issues to design inclusive, equitable, fair & regenerative possibilities. I have been fascinated about transformative & emergent forms of designing ‘Futures’: futures of people, places, perceptions, paradigms, processes and much more, and now the Future of Fairness. I want to continue helping in the framing of a collective evolving vision & purpose-driven design for the future of a world that cares.
I bring in an intersectional approach, multiple interpretations, deep listening, informed choices and unheard voices but most importantly rooted in place and context where experiential perspectives and lived narratives shape the discourses. My passion is to engage people in probing into things by asking questions, observing by suspending judgement, listening to others for understanding and not just responding, having conversations and dialogue over conflict generating debates, and move towards a creative unity! People are at the centre of the pedagogy I believe in, participation being its foundation, and inquiry at its heart.
