Understanding Design Laws

This course was mainly experimenting with different design laws, mediums and materials. Understanding that each medium, method and material has a voice of their own and we are merely speaking through them. We worked with multiple different mediums through the entirety of this course and had the chance to understand how powerful simple things like spacing and perspective are in the larger picture. Being in “evocative expression” helped me understand the power materials have over you and the final product, just a change in the kind of blue string you use can shift the whole vibe of a piece, changing the kerning in a visual piece can alter the aesthetics greatly but it can also give of a completely different feeling.

Having an understanding of the materials, methods and user plays a huge role in the output and my chosen project and course has helped me appreciate that better.
