Camaredrie Chronicles

Abstract

A two-output based project, Camaraderie Chronicles is an illustration based representation of research and a presentation of analytical information of real-life historical, socio-cultural and political anecdotes/narratives of camaraderie, in the form of 11 illustrations which were also used as puzzles. The puzzles ultimately became a part of a puzzle-game website-prototype, to generate awareness and camaraderie itself. Practise-wise, the piece goes from secondary research to visually illustrated data book, conveying various anecdotal narratives of camaraderie across socio-cultural, political and historical lenses, which are aimed towards the creation of a puzzle game site that boosts collaboration and creates awareness. Conceptually, it stems from a personal curiosity for a need to clearly understand camaraderie and locate it through narratives in real-life history. This was then channelled towards a data visualisation approach of creation, for awareness and education focused game prototyping. Crossing over in this project’s case, involves transitioning from personal curiosity-based secondary research to awareness and education-focused illustrative display and game creation.
