Abstract
Shooting this film changed my view on filmmaking, prompting me to unlearn and relearn filming techniques. My subject, Sateesh, a software engineer and pigeon racer, inspired my approach. Despite initially planning specific shots, I embraced experimentation, lacking expensive gear and relying on what I had. Stepping into Satish's world, I shed my preconceptions and barriers, allowing genuine connection. Being vulnerable to the experience, as suggested by my faculty, proved invaluable. It felt like rediscovering curiosity and experimentation, immersing myself in the space. Editing became about creating an experience rather than following traditional structures. Letting go of linear editing brought forth a narrative that immersed viewers into the world of pigeons. This process of self-experimentation in a liminal space kept me engaged and yielded an outcome I enjoyed, free from worries about a final product.
