Audio Reactive Visual Prototype
Abstract
The conceptualization of the project involved the conversion of diverse frequency inputs into basic visual representations, aimed at understanding the mechanics behind audio-reactive visuals. To achieve this, I opted for circular shapes, assigning them specific RGB values. The visualizer was designed to produce small-scale circles in response to low-frequency audio captured by the device's microphone and, conversely, larger circles for higher frequency inputs. The scale of the circles corresponded proportionately to the amplitude of the frequency input received by the device’s microphone. This audio visualizer is designed as an attempt to make interactive art involving two human senses – sound and sight. The colour palette of the circles was chosen keeping in mind the purpose which is to provide a soothing and calming experience. This interactive art prototype can be a useful medium for people with different kinds of disabilities to create beautiful pieces of art using their own voice or by producing some sounds. It can be a wonderful opportunity for them to explore this new medium of art as it is seeks to involve as many people from different backgrounds as possible.
