Toda Buffaloes - Photo Essay

This project is very special to me as it was the beginning of my exploration towards the PGDP. I chose this project as i grew up wondering about this water buffaloes, wandering around the town and i have also noticed the number of these buffaloes have reduced overtime. This project also explores the relationship between the Water Buffalo and the Toda community residing in the Nilgiri hills. Learning about this relationship and their interconnectedness with the community made me want to know more on the challenges these buffaloes face due to the transformation of their natural habitat from Shola Grasslands to Woody, Thorny, and Predatory Forests.
