Patterns Of Identity

I'm currently working on a project to gain a deeper understanding of my community, the Badagas, who are an indigenous tribe residing in the Nilgiri hills of Tamil Nadu, India. The more research I conduct within my community, the more stories I find. My connection with my community has grown stronger as I learned about the various cultural significances. The objective of this project is to trace the Badaga community’s migration journey, help other members of my community understand their roots better, explore the customs, traditions, landscape, and architecture of this unique indigenous community, and revive their almost forgotten culture, make motifs and create a motif book collection which can be used on textiles for my further developments of bring culture and traditions designs to contemporary apparel’s.
