Abstract
In this project, I researched the struggles of menstruating women to curate a guidebook that allows them to understand their bodies better. It includes exercise combinations and dietary tips to help achieve a consistent menstrual cycle. This project is well-researched and the curation of exercises is informed by my research (self-experimentation) on muscle stimulation through home workouts. The project encourages incorporating small lifestyle changes tailored for individuals with busy schedules to help ease menstrual cramps and achieve a regular cycle over time.
After transitioning from equestrian sports to powerlifting, I noticed significant differences in how men and women train. In powerlifting and bodybuilding, women often consider their hormonal fluctuations in their training plans. Because of my consistent training and genetics, I am fortunate not to experience inconsistent or painful menstrual cycles. This initially made me feel distant from the struggles faced by menstruating women, but I was driven by my determination to make a difference, so I pushed forward with the project that allowed me to explore further. Through the exploration that allowed me to examine various societal and environmental factors that affect women's health, I developed a greater sense of empathy and connection to the challenges women face in society.
