Design Computation
In an era overwhelmed by distractions and data, my work seeks to cultivate mindfulness and presence. Through diverse mediums such as a photobook, speculative game and web design, I intend individuals to pause, reflect and engage with their immediate surroundings. My projects like “Subtle Wonders” and the “Fauna” section of MAHE’s “Rewilding” initiative illuminate the overlooked beauty in everyday life and foster awareness about not being lost in this busy world. Coming from a technical background, my journey as a creative practitioner is rooted in blending technology with design and nature to create meaningful experiences. My choice of media aims to provide an interactive and self-reflective engagement for people to resonate with, whether it is a photo book that invites viewers to appreciate the overlooked beauty of nature, or my final project “Sensor Data Privacy,” a speculative game that educates people about sensor data and its privacy. What sets my approach apart is noticing the unnoticed and integrating traditional art forms with digital tools, promoting awareness and mindfulness. By encouraging others to see the world anew and appreciate the present moment, I aim to inspire a deeper connection with both the physical and digital worlds, fostering a sense of curiosity and appreciation in everyday life.
My projects revolve around urging individuals to pause, reflect and engage with their immediate surroundings. In a world overwhelmed with distractions and data, I want to spark a conversation about the importance of being present in the moment. Through diverse mediums such as photobooks, speculative games and web design, I strive to illuminate the beauty and significance of embracing the present in different fields. The key theme of these projects is Awareness, which makes individuals cultivate a sense of awareness about their surroundings physically and digitally. It involves being aware of what's present around us, recognising what's in front of us, and being mindful of the data that gets stored and collected digitally. This perfectly captures the essence of my projects.
